Sliabh Liag Hiking Loop

Sliabh Liag Hiking Loop

Sliabh Liag Camping is situated in an ideal location for the outdoor enthusiast and hiker. If you are looking for the ultimate hike with world class scenery, you have come to the right place.

There are multiple hiking trails to explore from the campsite. Most notably the 12km loop of Sliabh Liag, which includes Bun Glas, the One Man's Pass, and the Pilgrim's Path. Alternatively for the more experienced hiker, there is a 4 hour hike along the cliff edge to the Silver Strand Beach in Malin Beg.

The Appalachian Trail is over 3500km long and over 300 million years old and the only trail in the world to span over ocean running from Memphis to Maine and entering Europe at Sliabh Liag (Slieve League), Co. Donegal. Why not begin your hike on the Appalachian Trail starting from here.

For any further information on these trails, campsite staff are more than happy to answer your questions with their local knowledge. Look out for organised guided hikes from the campsite in the future.

Sliabh Liag Boat Trips

Sliabh Liag Boat Trips

Sliabh Liag Boat Trips is the best way to witness Europe’s highest accessible sea cliffs from below. Boat trips and tours run several times throughout the day from Teelin harbour which is 1.5km from Sliabh Liag Camping.

Sliabh Liag Boat trips are more than happy to accommodate private parties and chartered fishing trips.

Glen Folk Village

Glencolmcille Folk Village

This thatched-roof replica of a rural village in Ireland’s most north westerly county offers a glimpse into daily life as it was during past centuries.

The Folk Village Museum is a cluster of several small cottages, called a ‘clachan’, perched on a hillside overlooking the sandy curve of Glen Bay Beach in the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) of South West Donegal. Designed, built and maintained by the local people, the Folk Village is one of Ireland's best living-history museums.

Silver Strand Beach

Silver Strand Beach

You can’t visit Sliabh Liag without taking a walk down (all the steps!) to the Silver Strand Beach. Also known as Malin Beg Beach, it is deemed one of the best beaches in Donegal. It is an incredibly popular tourist spot for that reason and it’s no surprise. It is a beautiful secluded bay with horse-shoe shaped cliffs surrounding it. Silver Strand Beach is the perfect place to soak up amazing scenery.
